Our proposed research concerns the spectra of Toeplitz operator on Hardy-Hilbert spaces. In particular, we will summarise existing results on well-understood Toeplitz operators, give more detailed proofs, and provide concrete examples. We will then examine examples of general Toeplitz operators to investigate the applicability of relevant results to them and/or compute their spectra.

Enxi Lin is a final-year Mathematics/Secondary Education student at UNSW. Over the course of her undergraduate studies, she has developed a strong interest and appreciation towards pure mathematics, particularly its logically rigorous argumentation and the generalisation of interconnected results through abstraction. Currently, her research interest is in functional analysis, especially in operator theory. With the plan to pursue an honour in pure mathematics next year, she is excited about this summer program as a first taste in research in maths.
Outside her academic pursuits, she is passionate about education and has enjoyed guiding high school students towards discovering the joy and significance of mathematics.
