Supersymmetric quantum mechanics and the Witten index

The project is to understand a basic topological characteristic associated with supersymmetric theories, called the Witten index. First, it contains constructing a supersymmetrized version of a specific model and understanding some characteristic properties of supersymmetric theories. Then do detailed calculations for an example of supersymmetric quantum mechanics. Finally, if time permits, extend the results to more complex models like supersymmetric versions of non-linear sigma models and LandauGinzburg models.
