Studying the Human Mobility Patterns in Victoria Pre- and Post-COVID-19
The COVID-19 Pandemic has resulted in two periods of lockdown in areas of Victoria. This project will study the mobility patterns of people in Victoria across suburbs and discover patterns in the number of cases and the amount and type of mobility within and between suburbs. Using mobility data from Jan 2020 until November 2020 and complex network theory especially around ego networks, we will investigate if the hotspot suburbs had some clearly distinguishing mobility characteristics that set them apart from the suburbs that were not hotspots.

Cameron originally hails from rural NSW, but moved to Melbourne in 2015 to study a Bachelor of Agriculture at the University of Melbourne. Upon graduating in 2018 he enrolled at RMIT to study a Bachelor of Science majoring in applied mathematics. Currently in his third year, he has developed an interest in differential equations and and their application to modelling things such as population dynamics. He also has an interest in the numerical methods for the solutions of differential equations; and appreciates the beauty in a good statistics course.
