Optimum Cloud Computing

Cloud computing has revolutionised the way computational tasks are managed, providing scalable and flexible resources on demand in a virtualised environment in a pay-for-use model. However, allocating these resources efficiently remains a significant challenge, particularly when the exact requirements for compute time and memory are uncertain between machines. This research proposes to tackle this challenge by developing optimisation models and techniques to minimise the cost of allocating computational tasks in a hybrid cloud environment.

Toby is a second year Bachelor of Science student at Monash University, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computational Science. He is particularly interested in applying mathematical and computational methods to problems related to predictive modelling, data analysis and optimisation.

In his spare time, Toby is a keen Australian Rules football player, and is fascinated by the intersection of sport and data analysis, particularly how data insights can enhance player and team performance when used in conjunction with human perspectives and decision making.

Toby is eager to gain experience in mathematical research and looks forward to exploring further opportunities in academia and industry.
