Climate Variable Trends in South Australia

It is general knowledge that rainfall and temperature are experiencing changes over time in South Australia. What is less well known is exactly by how much, whether there are regions where it is rising and others where it is falling. Understanding the climate variable trend is necessary and important for the further investigation.

Finding the regions with significant climate variable trend is the foundation to figure out what the key factors are can make the state more resilient to changes in future. This project aims to extend works in previous research to explore the historical trend of rainfall and temperature for the various regions in South Australia.

Shurui Yi is a final-year student at the University of South Australia studying a Bachelor of Mathematics (Data Science). Strong interest in problem-solving drives her into the field of mathematics. After three years of study, she is passionate about modelling, statistics, and technology. In future, she hopes to apply this knowledge to a career in data analytics for solving real-word problems.
